This modification of the Pleko
Therm System has all the
properties that has made the Therm System the
system of choice when it comes to PB Type EIFS Systems plus more.
The system allows the positive drainage of incidental water that may enter
the system through various penetrations on the wall.
The system has by design redundant protection from water. The primary
weather barrier is the polymer modified base coat and the acrylic finish.
It incorporates a self adhering rubberized membrane that seals the edges
around windows and other openings. In addition it also incorporates
a layer of 15# felt or 60 minute paper spread on the surface of the substrate
to function as a secondary weather barrier. The back of the foam insulation
board is specially configured to incorporate vertical grooves that conducts
water to the bottom of the wall and to the outside.

| SECONDARY WEATHER
BARRIER |
The secondary weather barrier over
the approved substrate consists of a single layer of 15# felt, or minimum
60 minute paper, in conjunction with a rubberized, self sticking waterproof
membrane for all penetrations, including doors and windows, outside and
inside corners and for terminations at the bottom of the sheathing.
The rigid insulation board is made
of 1.0 pcf. expanded polystyrene. For the Rain
Drain System the EPS foam insulation can range in thickness from
1 1/2 inch to 4 inches thick. The insulation board forms the base
of the system.
The Insulation Board used in the Rain Drain System
incorporates a special configuration that allows the drainage of water through
and out of the mechanically fastened EIF System.
The Insulation Board is chamfered 1/2 inch on the bottom edge as it rests
on a PVC weep starter track to facilitate lateral drainage.
For added strength, an alkaline resistant
woven fiberglass mesh is embedded in the base coat layer. The mesh
also prevents cracking, splitting or peeling of the finish coat.
PLEKO CEMENTITIOUS
BASE COAT- An acrylic polymer modified cementitious base coat used
for embedding fiberglass reinforcing mesh.
PLEKO NON-CEMENTITIOUS BASE COAT- An acrylic
polymer based synthetic base coat. Used for embedding mesh in the
direct apply system using plywood and wood based boards also recommended
for use in embedding high impact mesh.
PLEKO THICK BASE COAT- An acrylic polymer modified
cementitious Base Coat, formulated with internal reinforcements and anti
sag modifiers to allow thicker applications in just one pass.
Plekos
exclusive fasteners hold the insulation board securely to the substrate.
The Pleko fastener must be used to conform
to code requirements. It withstands wind loading in multi-story applications.
These unique fasteners are available in a variety of sizes and styles to
meet application needs.
These 100 % acrylic polymer based
coatings stand up to all kinds of weather. Available in a variety
of textures and colors, they provide a tough, washable, protective coating.
| ADVANTAGES
OF PLEKO RAIN DRAIN SYSTEM |
ENERGY EFFICIENT
Installed directly over approved substrates, the Rain
Drain System reduces air infiltration and leakage, while increasing
exterior wall R-values. That saves energy and creates a more comfortable
environment.
DURABLE
Pleko Rain Drain System resists many of the
elements such as ozone, ultraviolet radiation, salt water, freeze/thaw conditions
and potential chemical attack which cause other coatings to crack, chip
and fade. For high traffic areas and special situations, a High Impact
Rain Drain System is available.
COST EFFECTIVE
Easy installation, minimal material waste and optimum job site efficiency
provide substantial initial savings over other kinds of siding materials.
Energy savings and low upkeep costs continue for the life of the building.
FLEXIBLE DESIGN
Pleko Rain Drain System's lightweight, simple
installation and easy plan detailing offer unlimited design possibilities.
Choose from a variety of textures and colors to complement your design.
ULTIMATE PROTECTION FROM WATER INFILTRATION
The Pleko Rain Drain System's design that incorporates
redundant water protection is your ultimate guarantee of performance.
The system is designed to prevent water from getting into the substrate
by providing drainage channels to the outside.
